| Customer Comments "With respect to the Sabco false bottom, I have one and love it. I started using a converted keg to mash about 10 years ago but initially used one of the dome style false bottoms that does not fold in half and does not cover the entire bottom of the keg. This style did not work well, it would move around if for whatever reason I needed to stir the mash. The Sabco false bottom has been great, it fit very well into my converted keg right out of the box. My efficiency definitely increased when I switched from the dome style. I would definitely recommend it." "I have used these for several years now with great success. I currently own two. Although they seem pricey at first, keep in mind that other offerings out there may not keep the grain up off the heated surface of the keg kettle if you are direct heating the mash tun, and this can lead to scorching. Another thing is that with the Sabco bottom covering the entire width of the kettle, you get more surface area for the bottom of the filter bed and a better and more even flow of the liquid through the grain bed resulting in a better yield. The hinge is also a bonus as you can easily place and remove it for any normal size opening. All in all I've never seen a better false bottom, so suddenly the price seems like a bargain." |
