THE 'BREW-MAGIC' ® STORY
During the early 90's when the turmoil of small batch brewing was making its
way onto the scene, a small group of brewing scientists and brew-masters
realized the potential advantages of a small 1/2 barrel pilot system which
could be designed to eliminate the problematic variables which prevent
brew-repeatability. . . the essential ingredient needed for recipe development.
Included in this group was Dr.George Fix, author of 'Principles of Brewing
Science'.
Five years and 4 prototypes later, the Brew-Magic Brewing System was
born. Today, many years later, this full featured and organized device has
superb wort handling characteristics, an amazing cutting edge electronic
controller, and a design-repeatable brewing technique which has become
well known as the 'Brew-Magic Method'. The small batch system also has a
very long history of continued improvements by Sabco , each of which has
been extensively tested and then field tested by brewer-owners in over 20
countries around the world.
RIMS ( recirculating infusion mash ) systems like Brew-Magic, effectively
remove the need to stir the mash. This, single handedly, eliminates a huge
variable. Bringing the wort to the grain via recirculation allows the grain to
act as a 'static' filter to eliminate turbid runoffs. The age-old thinking that
RIMS technique is risky due to possible caramelization effects was decidedly
eliminated on the 2nd prototype many years ago. Laboratory analysis proves
an almost perfect mash temperature-uniformity with 'zero' stratification of
heat. High yields and programmable temperatures add precision to the
brewer's tool belt. An amazing new controller that actually records and plays
back your brewing sessions makes this system simply over the top !
Today the Brew-Magic Brewing System is used by regional brewers, micros,
pubs, restaurants, and home-brewers alike. Many use it for recipe
development in laboratory environments, while others use it as their main
